King OF Sloth

Title: King of sloth

Author: Ana Huang

Genre: romance

Publisher: Bloom Books

Here’s the blurb for y’all to update your TBR list:

Charming, easy-going, and rich beyond belief,
Xavier Castillo has the world at his fingertips.

He also has no interest in taking over his family’s empire (much to his father’s chagrin), but that hasn’t stopped women from throwing themselves at him….. unless the woman in question is his publicist.

Nothing brings him more joy than riling her up, but when a tragedy forces them closer than ever, he must grapple with the uncertainty of his future – and the realization that the only person immune to his charms is the only one he truly wants.

Cool, intelligent, and ambitious,
Sloane Kensington is a high-powered publicist who’s used to dealing with difficult clients.

However, none infuriate – or tempt – her more than a certain billionaire heir, with his stupid dimples and laid-back attitude.

She may be forced to work with him, but she’ll never fall for him…. no matter how fast he makes her heart beat or how thoughtful he is beneath his party persona.

He’s her client, and that’s all he’ll ever be. Right?

Oh God, it truly was a good read, and I enjoyed reading it way too much that I was dreading for it’s ending. I won’t be lying if I rank this 1st in the King of Sin series, which it truly deserves! (yet to read King of Envy) And God, it was written so damn good, like all the essence of their characters and their witty or sarcastic remarks, whether in mind or dialogue, was hilarious.

Xavier Castillo- THE fucking man you are- ILOVEYOUSFM. The kind of ml which didn’t disappoint a lot in reading and his character arc from a careless to a self made businessman! It was also really commendable that the ML is being kind, caring, and genuinely nice to those who were LITERALLY strangers or even people who did good for him- many examples in this book. He was not your typical arrogant-for-all-but-nice-to-my-girl typa character, and yes, it was a good change to read. Also, how can we forget his denial phase in starting and then being madly in love just with HER.

Sloane Kensington. – I just relate to her in many ways, and I love love her even before reading her book, for obvious reasons! (ofc ,talking about all those previous King of Sin series books) In a nutshell, I’d just say I love her character way too much and her arc from hating cheesy rom-com to liking bits of their moments to loving it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their confession scene and all that setup for that was v cheesy and filmy, but but as Sloane said, it was worth remembering it, so it was- no argument needed, please! 🥺

Them with each other was so cutu cutu!!! Whether it was him riling up, or her being in the denial phase of her true feelings. Also, leads communication is my weakness.

I just don’t enjoy that phase where the author tries to whitewash their negative character in the end, and it was really annoying to read in this whole series, HONESTLY, but in this book, it was a lil hard to read that phase, but but I really liked their confrontation the second time at their house when Sloane willingly went to their home for UHMM, no spoilers😏

Also, please, their spicy scenes were damn!

P.S. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t the most excited about reading Sloane’s book from the very first book of the series. Her glimpses were enough in those previous booksets to make me desperate to read more and more about her!

I’d rate this book a solid 4.5/5
