Reading Maniac

I was excited for Kenji’s book initially, but all the things in this novella were pretty repetitive, and scenes which we’d already read in Restore Me – which I had thoroughly sped read. Also, his loneliness was pretty much exaggerated at some points, like I get it…. You feel emotions, you care about everyone, you feel like, and you cry for hours about lil things which are not supposed to happen, like – but after a point it felt like he was overdoing it, plus undermining others’ pain or feelings while comparing in jealousy or envy- well, that’s the real part, and damn! I relate, bro.

 

Ummm, talking about the couple – I felt zero chemistry, both sides (fascination?! from Nazeera’s side) were bound to each other physically only.

 

Juliette and his relationship were so pure, and I freaking love it. But yes, situations were really harsh in this book, and I missed bubbly Juliette, but fine, nvm. I would have never believed that there relationship is going to be THIS Good after reading the first book, but here we are.

 

Warner’s and Kenji’s camaraderie was…. unexpected. Like, are you telling me that Warner just….. talked about his feelings a lil bit and and, gave him what? relationship advice? *Cough* I can’t believe it.

 

Adam Kent, you’re being sidelined in everyone’s story, and he’s suffering all alone with his brother, which is so sad. I’d never say he deserves it after what he said to Juliette, but damn, I feel bad for that seventeen-year-old boy who ran away with her girlfriend to build a future for them.

 

Castle hinted about that together they’re good, but there are some things they need to learn and realise alone and individually, so I’m guessing the next book is finally their exploration arc about their past, childhood, and more specifically, I seriously hope, their conversations with each other about their lives with all honesty.

 

Also, did anyone realise that both Warner and Kenji wish the same choice of opting out like Adam during the symposium, but of course, they don’t have any choice.

 

The last chapter confirmed that only Warner and Juliette are the ones who’re “kidnapped” and others had already taken their way out when the crowd begin to stir and shuffle around. That makes so much more sense, honestly!

 

Some things were definitely being in a loophole to explore in the new book, and I’m all in for it.

 

I would most definitely rate this book a 3/5- like I enjoyed it, but again, too much repetitive (or maybe, that’s how novellas are supposed to be, I don’t know?)
