Reading Maniac

The tension between Morana and Tristan is getting a lil repetitive, honestly. I mean the first half of first chapter was filled with unsaid words and her overthinking, yet his silent acknowledgement is being appreciated. I mean, I don’t get it sometimes; at the same time I get it. But by the end of the chapter, uhm uhm never mind ig? And never have I ever imagined crybaby Amara to be so strong and opinionated in front of anyone, but the first chapter itself proved me wrong.

 

I’m more and more excited to read about Dante and Morana’s conversation. The way their first text conversation had everything from care, eloquence, love, and mutual respect is something! They surely give friends energy. And Dante is damn formal; we need some informal moments of both.

 

I’ll not lie, but constant lust from both sides of main leads is frustrating. There’s no emotional connection as such; at some point, it even seems like she’s just being delusional to read too much about him when he’s JUST talking to her when they do deeds.

 

The confrontation between Morana and Maroni!!! damn. ngl, I missed this Morana, and I cheered for her smooth comeback. The subtle body language and challenge? Damn! Speechless. But impressed.

 

The confrontation between Tristan and her father? Brother, what the fuck? I mean, I imagined cruelty, but this level of cruelty? Did I just underestimate Tristan Fucking Caine? I mean, visualising him doing torture for any wrongdoings for her? Yes, I imagined. But saying it, or should I say warning, him to this extent. Oh god, I’m impressed. And bro, I hate her father, literally, HATE HIM. The constant riling up he did, and on top of that, he reached to his level- filth just to awaken a monster of her protector.

 

Oh, how much I love Dante for showing this amount of gentleness and patience while dealing with Morana when she was attacked. He not only offered her his place for comfort, he truly showed her comfort, which was the need at that moment. And god, the more I read about Zia and Morana, my heart squeezes for the younger Morana – she didn’t deserve what she had in her childhood. And Aaaghh, Tristan Caine, the over-the-top prim-looking Tristan Caine came running to her in his T-shirt, which was put on inside out, yes, insane! The actions – it was always his actions that didn’t allow both Morana and me to leave his side fully. The way he held her through all her moments of panic, her own adrenaline going down and reality hitting her, her finally breaking down, and yet he held it all through. love love. She felt safe enough to cry her heart out, and on top of that she felt safe enough to close her eyes & sleep ON HIM. (you’ll see me in the corner crying my heart out because well….)

 

After moving into his house, the story was going at a very good speed and writing. I sometimes feel amazed at how Tristan is slowly and steadily finally expressing his thoughts, feelings, and even his emotions in front of Morana. And trusting her enough to share some vulnerable parts of his life with her, damn. And he finally broke down in her arms. Very much needed, indeed. I’m just paranoid about the whole confession, and maybe I read some spoilers that he isn’t going to confess till the end; it’s heartbreaking if it’s true, but I’m going with the flow. Also, the mystery related to that incident and all the events revolving around it are making the story interesting enough to make me read this book in a much faster pace – and I am not complaining, though.

 

Last chapter, and is it okay to say I was emotional the whole freaking time? Withdrawal syndrome, fs, but more than that, Tristan Caine finally comforting her with much-needed words which were an unspoken topic between them for a long time. And the guilt after seeing all the deaths and even killing with her own hands, it was inevitable (talking about the same girl whose first killing was supposedly father’s closest guards!) – and the writing! How much I want to appreciate it. The same girl who just used to blabber inside her head because no one truly listened to her, to being a girl talking her heart out in front of Tristan Caine.
And the alliance is finally back, again, this time, in good hands!

 

Always a sucker for Epilogue, and it was HIS much-awaited POV, and it was always his actions. ACTIONS. He’s too down, v down for her, and I know he doesn’t know about this himself. Just hope they confess with words till the end – because actions are great, but some words just sound good to hear. He gifted her an exact replica of her car! Her only solace was that thing before Tristan happened, and from her pov, it was her only friend and emotions behind that one thing – insane! I’m ded after reading his pov would be an understatement. bye. and and and the freaking cliffhanger!! Gawwddd, it’s too much for me. bye ×2.

 

I’m honestly more interested in reading the mystery, and at the same time excited to see Dante and Amara’s story being unraveled; I just don’t know.

 

P.S. I always never doubted her father to be a cruel man. He was a sweetheart. He truly deserves an apology for all the hate he got; a highly misunderstood character but the most understanding, kind, and lovable guy, and most importantly, Maroni was right: her father really, really loved her. His parting words to Tristan <3 ((P.S. reading the prologue after knowing about her father was something! Like, now I know the context, and I’m happy, you get it? i was so fucking worried for them (not really) when I first read the prologue!))

 

Tristan Caine – “he’d known she’d been playing him earlier, and he’d played her right back” – ladies and gentlemen, the utterly asshole mastermind. His silent yet soft gestures for Morana are appreciable, especially the whole scene where he treated her like a baby after an assailant tried to k word in sleep. The whole journey from being a cold, stoic hearted soldier to a soft, caring, and lovable Tristan Caine…… journey was too long yet enjoyable to say the least.

 

Morana Vitalio – I’ll say it again, one of those fmc who’re dumb inside their head, yet never show it outward to anyone. When she felt at home in Tristan’s home, I don’t know why, but again, I felt hurt knowing that she had to face a brutal attack and then, for the very first time, someone actually caring for her to realise she has a home now. Can we please talk about her narcissism – the name she kept on sites where she used to find the “data”?

 

Dante Maroni – As I somewhere expected of him, an emotionally weak man, but him sharing about his family, past, and HIM to Morana was surprising yet emotional to read. His protectiveness and caring, or simply his presence, is so comforting with Morana; it makes me clench my heart in so many ways.

 

Amara – the constant secret buster between Morana and Tristan to her. I mean, if she wasn’t revealing anything to her, had their story never begin from their sides and readers? Readers are damn thankful for bursting things Tristan would never reveal to her in words, directly! I mean, in Chiara’s case, I was shocked by her side of the story, but then Amara happened, and Tristan, he’s a loyal asshole, again.

 

I’d rate this book a freaking 5/5.
