Reading Maniac

First chapter with an unknown character, which left me with only doubts and confusion about him.
Oh, how much I’d love to see the miniature Tristan’s version and the couple’s banter and just daily activity. And and and, Morana and Tristan are still the IT couple of this series. Their scenes scream SOMETHING SOMETHING, and I love love that vibe and energy they’ve around each other.

 

Starting few chapters (Part 1) seem like we’re reconnecting with an old friend again whom we lose connections over the years. And it felt good – just sometimes juggling from one POV to another seems a lil irritating, like lemme complete that one person’s POV which I’m invested in.

 

The reassurance and the love Shadow man poured before reuniting Lyla/Luna to her past was so enchanting. And the reunion? God, it was THE beauty! Dante didn’t want to ruin the chance of his brother-like friend meeting her first – my assumption before reading his pov. But brother being protective about his family. Understandable. (and laugh-worthy that she was thinking about how handsome he is.) And Tristan? Him being him yet so soft and vulnerable, it’s enough to make my throat tighten. The way they both just adore each other for moments before realising this was all real and the hugg! AAGHH! Love it. So wholesome. And should I act surprised that Shadow Man was there the whole time? Because urgh! That was something very HE thing.

 

Part 2 ended with A LOT of spicy moments, but reading them alone was enough to realise how different everyone’s personality is with their respective partners. (ps. my fav one was Morana and Tristan – they just scream chemistry) Also, juggling through different POV was a lil boring and sometimes repetitive, but the party moment with that whole “heroic” entry. Damn! Expected, but still damn!

 

Part 3 had many revelations and truths to engage with, but what broke me THE most was the “blood” part! Damn! He spent years looking out for his sister but….. GAWWWDDDD wtfff. Also, some illogical scenes which I just crossed out in my head (because c’mon, fictional) were also mentioned, such as Zenith’s adoption – it always made me feel like, why the heck was Syndicate not able to track her early? Like, she was just a kid when she ran away. Tristan’s abandonment also slightly gave a “something is missing” feel. But I feel so fking bad for him – for his trauma! It was all JUST….. Overall, I did enjoy reading this part, but it was slightly juggling a lil too much through different POV as well (my issue, I guess, in the whole reading of this book). All the heavy heartbreaks, including killing or injury, broke my heart truly – Morana’s left arm, Vin (AAGGHH, still broken), Zephyr’s father – I hate him, and so on.

 

Epilogue 1 and OHMYGAWWWDDDD, they’re freaking married after all the years and struggle. He brought out a ring after finding out about his sister’s existence and was just waiting for the right moment? Okay. Screaming because they’re so cuteeeeee. And Morana? She’s my fav for a reason! She never let her weakness prevail in any situation, and that’s what she did in the end as well, and Wildcat finally got his lil kitten in the end.

 

Epilogue 2 and woah, mixed emotions! It was sweet and heartwarming, yet some realistic things that are supposed to happen, but we wish to never see them.

 

Epilogue 3 and awwww, I always wanted this fucker Alpha to be a girl dad. The way he made Zephyr suffer (HE FUCKING DID). I wanted to see his softer yet vulnerable side, which, from the glimpses, made my heart swell. Also, him being considerate like someone? Okay, brother, you changed?! And doggies!!! Main element in their story.

 

Epilogue 4 and uhm, okay….. It was not what I expected it to be, but what can I even expect from them? I mean – no offence, but trauma bonding and not-so-great chemistry was their thing. And I finally found the line which I read in some spoilers by the starting of my reading journey (I didn’t watch any, just THIS), because of which this book was disliked, and many commented that they wish to never read it or just eradicate their memories. (It did irked me – most of Lyra/Luna/Lyna POV did, to be very honest.)

 

 

Tristan Caine – I just love this man! His scenes come, and all I do is squeak like a banshee. The fact that he’s still the same yet different and less guarded just makes him HIM. And the reactions he got after finding out the truth from Morana? My heart? It swells with happiness.

 

 

Morana Vitalio – Her being freaky with him was never a new thing, but seeing the trust, understanding, and just love growing between them was something I always adore between them. Even their lil moments SCREAAAAAM romance! However, do I seriously have to talk about her smartness? BECAUSE she’s the tech genius! And more than that, she possesses sympathy or empathy for others as well.

 

 

Dante Maroni – Our og manipulative bastard. Him still throwing that easy-going and emotional facade (sometimes, when the situation demands!) but thinking from the mind all the while, fooling everyone.
I’ve always imagined him as a family man and the person who’ll be there when you need him, no matter what, but seeing him so protective yet slightly doubtful about Luna/Lyra FOR THEIR PROTECTION would always be lil emotional, lil lovable moments.
P.S. Reading about him from other’s pov just makes me fall harder and harder. He’s a proper definition of a gentleman!

 

 

Amara – Woah, her transformation from a naive girl to a confident, kind, and just happy to be around with is my favourite. Being a survivor, she never let go of her kindness; rather, she made it her strong point. I just love love kind characters who aren’t stupid.

 

 

Alpha Villanova – Him as a patient man? I never expected it, but god, how much I love a man in love! And he’s the biggest example of guys being the same version yet different for their women. I love it.
Brother had a very thorough realisation that he wanted a family with her after a lil spicy moment. I mean – only if you knew!

 

 

Zephyr – Being in full different version of her after her sister’s ultimate death in her arms was really traumatic enough for her, and it was expected when I read their book. But reading it happen made me sad. Her energy transforming into a different person was heart-wrenching.
I always loved her (in her book as well, preferably before marriage when she was fun loving and just mindless about people and her surroundings), and seeing her back to that attitude would always be awe worthy! I mean – I love love her.

 

 

Shadow Man – I’ll never be tired of saying that how much he “feels” for her is what I want! He never saw her from that lens, which normal people would do – but that’s the point; neither he’s normal, nor she let him do anything normal. Just a lil ick; he’s a LiL too down for her.

 

 

Lyla/Luna Caine – Her showing tantrums was ALWAYS on my list but never really got the scene except in this book. I’m just waiting for that moment where she’ll get reunited with her family, because gawwdd, Tristan deserves THIS! and more than him, she deserves a family. In short, excited for her temporary adventure.

 

Ps. I love love Xander and his scenes were my favourite!

 

I’d rate this book 3.5/5 – too many different POV and something was missing the whole time. Right now, I just can’t pinpoint exactly what, but something was missing from the book’s content.
